Emilie*, 15, from Suffolk, wrote in and told us about the scary sleepover game that ended in tears…
“A few months ago, we were all staying at my friend, Holly’s* house and we had run out of ideas of what to do. “I know!” my mate, Chloe* said, “We could do a Ouija board!” Half of us didn’t know what it was, but I did… I was against the idea at first because I’d heard a few freaky stories about them and my Mum had forbidden me to ever try it out; I didn’t know why.
Eventually, Chloe* persuaded me and a few others to join in so we did. We set the board up, got a cup and began playing…
It was quite boring at first; nothing happened! We asked the basic, clichéd questions like: “Are you there”, “What is your name?”, “Where abouts are you?” and “Knock three times”, but nothing. Then, someone asked: “Give us a sign”. Just as we were about to give up, I suddenly felt the most horrifying chill run down my spine. It turns out we’d all felt the same thing! Stupid as we were, we carried on… We were intrigued!
Holly* asked: “Give us another sign!” and the lights in her room flickered. We froze, but decided to carry on. Little did we know, we were endangering someone else, or so it seemed! It was my turn. I asked a question and then from somewhere in the house we heard a loud, haunting scream…
We rushed downstairs and we saw Holly’s* little sister on the floor, holding her leg and crying out in agony! She’d broken it!
We don’t know whether the Ouija board actually summoned a spirit or had anything to do with the chill down our spines, the lights flickering or Holly’s* little sisters injury, but it was all too coincidental to be anything else…
Follow your instinct and NEVER do a Ouija board!”
